Description Sergey Belyashov 2005-12-21 10:59:06 UTC
I have two ISPs. Access to the Internet they provide through VPN connection. When I run my system (both net.ppp0 and net.ppp1 [simlink to net.ppp0] in the softlevel default) both net.ppp0 & net.ppp1 starts with "OK". But if I check ifconfig: ppp1 present, but ppp0 is not. I cannot start ppp0 manually if ppp1 started (error: ppp0 is already up). To start ppp0 I need to stop ppp1, start ppp0, wait some time (few seconds), and start ppp1.
Installed:
net-dialup/pptpclient-1.7.0
net-dialup/ppp-2.4.2-r15

The net.ppp0 script installed by the current stable version of net-dialup/ppp is deprecated. It has been removed in net-dialup/ppp-2.4.3-r10 in favor of pppd net module available in >=sys-apps/baselayout-1.12.0_pre11.
