Could you please try replacing -Os with -O2 and see if this allows you to compile singular! It still fails the same way. Should I attempt it with gcc 3.3? Nope, but just to make sure, can you please turn off distcc and give it another try. Incidentally, the Singular web site shows that they're up to 3.0.1.2 already -- 2.0.5 is somewhat old. I've been able to compile 3.0.1.2 from source, but the installation instructions are a bit confusing, so I'm not sure I have it right just yet. It might make more sense to just do a version bump. Good news!! The singular-3.0.1.1 ebuild emerged successfully on my Athlon T-bird! This is with "-O2" and distcc turned off. I'm going to re-enable distcc and see if it still works. We could close this one as "fixed in 3.0.1.1", right? If it's ok in newer versions, just let's call this WONTFIX (for 2.0.5-r4). |
