this ebuild wants unicode wxGTK, but i want to keep ISO-8859-15 on my system

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge vlc
Actual Results:  
!!! set-wxconfig: Error:  Can't find normal or debug version:
!!! set-wxconfig:         /usr/lib/wx/config/gtk2-unicode-release-2.6 not found
!!! set-wxconfig:         /usr/lib/wx/config/gtk2-unicode-debug-2.6 not found
!!! You need to emerge wxGTK with unicode in your USE

Expected Results:  
i want to compile vlc with ansi wxGTK, is it possible?

No. It's not supported by upstream.
