No need to do such thing, that's what revdep-rebuild is for. Why on earth would you make a user rebuild an entire system when a little exertion to slot the library (like has been done for nearly every other library) would improve the user experience, save time, and improve Gentoo? Case in point - I'm travelling this week and speaking at conferences - like I have the time or battery power to rebuild almost 150 packages while crossing oceans - all because one little program (in this case ghc, as needed by darcs) wanted a newer version of readline!?! Sorry that you feel the way you do about this bug. I'm not going to reopen it, but I am certainly going to refer others to it. AfC Los Angeles |
