Description Chris White (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-08 01:14:03 UTC
While doing the gcc 3.4 upgrade, I found that my arts no longer worked. After
a couple of hours looking around, I found a recommended debug mode for arts
server, and ran it as that, upon running it, then doing "Test Sound" in
kontrol, arts claimed it could not load the akode plugin because the akode
library had an undefined
"_ZTv0_n32_N4Arts23PlayObject_private_stub9loadMediaERKSs" symbol. Upon
promptly re-emerge-ing akode, arts no longer crahsed. Maybe an issue in the
dependency levels?

I think this is just bug 61146 (arts dlopens the akode plugins), you didn't
run revdep-rebuild --library libstdc++.so.5, or akode didn't get caught in it?

Meh, it looks like it simply missed was later on in the queue. As most of my
kdemultimedia stuff was already built, I expected it to be too. Assuming makes
a .. well.. you know.
