Description Ulrich Müller gentoo-dev 2005-11-22 12:16:37 UTC
On a HP Compaq nc6120 laptop, the battery plugin does not see the ac_adapter
status. It will always report AC connected. Similar issue for thermal_zone.

Attached patch fixes the problem for me (and I hope it is a general solution).

The problem is still present in 0.3.0-r1 (which was unmasked owing to modular X, I suppose).

Could you file a bug upstream with patch please, thanks :)

Done so, see URL.
Comment 5 Ulrich Müller gentoo-dev 2006-04-10 02:03:39 UTC
So... -r2 is out, adding an ac_adapter.patch that has even more "special cases" for the name of the AC adapter directory in /proc. Of course, it still does not work for the HP nc6120 (the directory is called "C172" there).

Now I wonder what is wrong with my more general solution (see attachment) that it was not considered instead?

Fixed in 0.4.90.2 by UPSTREAM. 0.4.90.3 is in Portage. Bug is closed RESOLVED, FIXED by UPSTREAM. Following lead..

(Nobody is intrested fixing minor bugs of 4.2 plugins since 4.4 should be released tomorrow according to xfce-dev mailinglist)
