patch to add utf8 removal to gnucash-wrapper

Description Matthias Schwarzott gentoo-dev 2005-11-16 07:24:43 UTC
I use gnucash and since I switched my system to use an utf8 locale (de_DE.utf8)
gnucash always crashes after some seconds.

The attached patch adds a bit of code to the wrapper-script which changes the
used locale to the non-utf8 one.

This will work as all files supplied with gnucash (translations etc.) are
written in ISO-8859-x. With patch gnucash shows localized texts correct.

Comment 2 Matthias Schwarzott gentoo-dev 2005-11-16 07:43:36 UTC
Gnucash crashes not always, but when working with files created in other
encoding.
This means the problem occurs when switching gnucash between utf8 and non-utf8
locale encoding.

Can you test gnucash-2.0.1 please?
Comment 5 Seemant Kulleen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-15 12:52:32 UTC
gnucash-2.0.1 solves this issue any way and it is pushed to stable for x86 and amd64 (other arches follow in about 3 weeks).
