Sabayon is a system administration tool to manage GNOME desktop settings.
Sabayon provides a sane way to edit GConf defaults and GConf mandatory keys: the
same way you edit your desktop. Sabayon launches profiles in an Xnest window.
Any changes you make in the Xnest window are saved back to the profile file,
which can then be applied to user's accounts.

Suggest app-admin/sabayon.

Unfortunately the configure.ac is wildly insufficient, so dependencies have to
be got from the RPM .spec file.
There's a few other "Gentoo way" issues that could do with looking at.

hem, this is officialy part of gnome 2.14 isn't it ?

If correct, then gnome-herd should inherit this ebuild maintenance right ?

This has been added to the overlay (http://overlays.gentoo.org/proj/gnome/wiki) and will be included in 2.16 when it goes into portage.
