The mail causing the problem

Description Jakob Schiotz 2005-11-09 02:15:58 UTC
When I get appointments sent by outlook (see attachment), kmail displays the
time one hour too early, causing much merriment about Linux users when I show up
:-) See the url for a screenshot.

The timezone in the appointment is GMT+01:00, my timezone according to date is
CET which is equivalent:

demokrit ~ # date
Wed Nov 9 10:44:48 CET 2005
demokrit ~ # ls -l /etc/localtime
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 37 Aug  2 11:40 /etc/localtime ->
/usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Copenhagen

The outlook user has his timezone set to a wrong city in Europe, but still
within the same time zone, so it should not matter.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Receive a mail from a Microsoft Outlook user with an appointment.
2. Look at the appointment as presented by kmail
3. Click accept.

Actual Results:
The appointment is shown one hour early in kmail
The appointment is entered into korganizer one hour early.

Oops, I had only attached a part of the message. Here is the whole mail
instead.
Comment 3 Gregorio Guidi (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-09 02:48:18 UTC
Several similar problems were reported at bugs.kde.org, see for instance:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68345
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84329

so the best thing to do is probably to comment on one of those bugs or to open
a new one at http://bugs.kde.org.
