Bug 111867

Summary: media-gfx/sane-backends - libsane-sm3600.so.1: undefined symbol
Product: Gentoo Linux Reporter: Marco <marco+gentoo>
Component: Current packagesAssignee: Patrick Kursawe (RETIRED) <phosphan>
Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE
Severity: blocker
Priority: High
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: Linux
Whiteboard:
Package list:
Runtime testing required: ---

Description Marco 2005-11-08 05:52:30 UTC
emerge sane-backends and xsane everything emerges correctly. when I run xsane
it crashes with the error:

xsane
xsane: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/sane/libsane-sm3600.so.1: undefined symbol:
sanei_usb_init

which is part of sane-backends which is why I'm filing the bug here. It seems
that libsane-sm3600 is necessary for usb though my scanner is an epson. Tried
with and without SANE_BACKENDS="epson" in make.conf. Both had exactly the same
result.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge sane-backends and xsane
2. run xsane
3.

Actual Results:
xsane crashes with this error:

xsane: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/sane/libsane-sm3600.so.1: undefined symbol:
sanei_usb_init

Expected Results:
run properly and allow me to scan :)
