i tried to find a bug about this, sorry if it's a duplicate. 
but I'd like to enable hibernation on my system running 2.6.14 
 
unfortunately the required suspend2 patch is not available.

Correct, there is no Software Suspend 2 patch available for linux-2.6.14 yet.
Nothing much we can do other than wait...
