after emerging net-dns/bind-9.3.1-r6 i found that the init script placed in
/etc/init.d no longer would stop the service nor would it restart nor would it
reload the named.conf. the old init script from the previous version works just
fine. a restart simply gave red !! on stopping and quit. i have gone back to the
previous init script until this pid problem is fixed. i have not traced the
code, no time at the moment, but it probably is tied in with chroot
configurations. i have no non-chroot configurations to try it with.
