Description Anonymous bin ich 2005-11-01 01:29:26 UTC
Since the new quake3 (which compiles) is being emerged these days, quake3-osp is
still going to /opt/quake3/osp

To play quake3-osp, one has to copy osp/ to /usr/share/games/quake3/
(actually, i gues something else should also be done, 'cause
cl_mouseacceleration is not working now :( )

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge quake3-osp
2.mv /opt/quake3/osp /usr/share/games/quake3/
3.

Actual Results:
quake3-osp was playable, OSP was visible as a mod

Expected Results:
emerge quake3-osp should put osp/ in the right place

well, it seems it was some problem with sensitivity (i had to decrease it after
this new compile).
So, copying /opt/quake3/osp/ to /usr/share/games/quake3/ does all the work.

Strange. quake3-osp works for me, although I don't know, why. I have only quake3
installed, not quake3-bin.

Ok... I am back after a long time.

I have had a fresh Gentoo installation some days ago. Today I emerged quake3-osp with these commands:
# USE="-gtk" emerge --oneshot smpeg
# emerge quake3
# emerge quake3-osp

So, at no point I installed or any dependency pulled quake3-bin.
Status:
1. quake3-osp (the executable) is running, but osp is not active.
2. I made a symlink of /opt/quake3/osp in /usr/share/games/quake3
3. osp is active.

I had latest quake3 (games-fps/quake3-1.34_alpha632)

I guess this is a duplicate.

Yes, we need to add proper support for either quake3-bin *or* quake3 to the eclass. I'd rather not do it at this moment, though, as I am working on a games-mods eclass that should cover this (along with a bunch of other games).

Well, games-mods eclass is here now, and I've ported a (currently masked) version of quake3-osp to it. The only reason it is masked is so I can have the time to fix all the other quake3 bugs (and mod requests) and unmask it all at once. feel free to unmask it now. It's completely safe to use.
