Major problems with that, like resources (requires tons of storage and bandwidth), USE flags, and most importantly - security. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 88134 *** These are major questions, but I don't see them as unsolvable problems. - The status of all flags can be stored together with a binary. - Tons of storage and bandwith can be managed with the bittorrent scheme, or with bittorrent itself. - Security seems more complcated to me. PGP web of trust could be used straight away. Efficiency could be boosted by storing checksums centrally. -- Gabor Borgulya |
