please use the opensource "radeon" driver and tell me if happen the same. please attach a cat /proc/cpuinfo Hi, I had a similar problem: I installed cm-sources 2.6.14 and then the ati-drivers 8.18.8. Then the screen looked very bright, like it had to much gamma-correction added... Switching back to 8.14.13 worked, but now dri is gone. I can only get fglrx to compile correctly with 2.6.11 :( Oops...forgot to say...i tried the radeon driver and it worked ok, but this isn't related to the kernel, it's on fact related to the fglrx drivers. I'd suggest you to use the radeon module for r2xx chips and use the fglrx just for r300. It's not a solution but I don't have much control over the fglrx and ati doesn't let enough resource to its linux team to cover everything =/ It might not be related but in the X.org.log file you added, the exiting error is a missing corepointer. There was a problem with the synaptics part. Not sure if this could cause fglrx to fail All the driver versions mentioned here are gone from the tree. Try with up-to-date x11-drivers/ati-drivers, if you still have problems, then file a new bug please. |
