I have my system's locale set to spanish (es_ES@euro). When I run Gaim it doesn't display extended characters like "Ñ", á,é,í,ó,ú, and the following characters. I mean, if it should say: - Añadir cuenta (add new account) It says: - A or: - Configuración (Configuration) it says: - Configuraci Gaim 0.60 (cvs versions) doesn't have any of these problems. Sorry, I'm inactive and these bugs should have been reassigned to someone else. Bouncing to bug-wranglers. I can confirm this bug. However, it doesn't look like a Gentoo bug to me. If you open gaim from a terminal, you'll be able to read: ** (gaim:2462): WARNING **: Invalid UTF8 string passed to pango_layout_set_text() So, basically it's a bug in gaim's code. Looking forward to the next stable release. :) |
