Could you please post the output of both "emerge -vp =dev-lang/php-4.4.0-r1" and
"emerge info"?

Please take a look at the following forums post:

And if that fixes your problem (wich btw is the "libtool: link: cannot find the
library `/usr/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-unknown-linux-gnu/3.3.5/libstdc++.la'" error),
please close the bug report.
