Bug 109576 – vim startup files try to load syntax highlighting from wrong place

Just upgraded to vim-6.4. Now when I try to open vim, this is what I get:

$ vim

E484: Can't open file /usr/share/vim/syntax/syntax.vim

I tried etc-update, but there's no updated config file.
The syntax.vim file seems to be in /usr/share/vim/vim64/syntax
I'm attaching my local /etc/vim/vimrc, though I don't think I have changed
anything on it

1. emerge -u vim (on ~x86 here)
2. vim
3.

Actual Results:  
error messages and no syntax highlighting

Expected Results:  
no error messages and syntax highlighting

What exact versions of vim, vim-core and gvim are you using? Most likely cause
of this is trying to use, say, vim-6.4b with vim-core-6.4.

Bingo!
Got vim-core updated to 6.4, but portage still hasn't updated vim from 6.4b.
Shame on me!!
