in the patch 025_all_samba-3.0.x-pdb-mysql.patch is in first 2 lines an 
absolute path. it must be a relative: 
--- samba-3.0.20b/examples/pdb/mysql/mysql.dump.ORIG    2005-10-14 
14:33:12.000000000 +0200 
+++ samba-3.0.20b/examples/pdb/mysql/mysql.dump 2005-10-14 14:33:38.000000000 
+0200 
 
not everybody has the default settings for PORTAGE_TMPDIR. 
 
the patch-file can be found in distfile samba-3-gentoo-0.3.9.tar.bz2: 
gentoo/patches/general/025_all_samba-3.0.x-pdb-mysql.patch

This bug is fixed after an emerge --sync..
