When emerging a package, portage reports: >>> Unpacking source... >>> Unpacking [...] to [...] >>> Source unpacked. But this is not realy clean when emerging binary packages which will not be compiled, so do not include sources. Maybe this can be changed to a more general phrase like "Extracting packages" or "Preparing files". I know it's just a detail, but since binary packages are also getting popular for gentoo, this should be adapted.
