*** Bug 108862 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** What's wrong with the ebuild version? There is no xf86-input-wacom in xorg CVS, probably because the driver is external... In the past, the wacom-driver was always part of xorg, you only needed to install it externally if you wanted an updated version. At the moment, the linuxwacom-ebuild is not installable (needs xorg with the sdk-useflag, no idea how this works out in the modular ebuilds, probably completely different due to the new build system) and there is no modularized version of the one in the xorg-tree. You're sure you are not looking for x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev? And there is a patch at http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101674 that actually makes -sdk work with linuxwacom. -Sud. IIRC, evdev is the support layer for wacom and other event/input devices. For now I've copied a wavom_drv.so to /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input from my workstation ;) As far as I'm aware, the plan was to drop native wacom support in favour of a separate linuxwacom package, since the built in one was vastly out of date, and the linuxwacom package fits in perfectly in a modular setting. I've also just submitted an alternative patch to bug 101674 which should allow it to be installed without problem. Unfortunately it does still install it in the wrong place (/usr/lib/modules/input rather than /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input), but a small bit of ebuild logic should be able to determine where to install it as necessary. I think this is out of date, linuxwacom-0.7.2 installs fine with modular x. |
