Description petr bravenec 2005-10-04 07:52:11 UTC
System time goes faster - the difference can be up to 30 secs in minute. When
the load is low, the time speed is normal. When the load is higher then the time
speed is chaotic and always faster. I have two identical motherboards Asus
A8N-E, the difference is processor AMD64 X2 versus AMD64 and disks SATA versus
IDE. System is configured and compiled without power management. Time on the
AMD64-X2-SATA is chaotic, time on the AMD64-IDE goes normaly.

Kernel is compiled without power management:
CONFIG_PM=y
# CONFIG_PM_DEBUG is not set
# CONFIG_SOFTWARE_SUSPEND is not set
# CONFIG_ACPI is not set
# CONFIG_CPU_FREQ is not set

Although the kernel is compiled without power management i found in boot
messages this (i guess it relates to power management):

This is and upstream problem - see
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3927. Try passing no_timer_check
option to kernel at boot time.

Sigh, wrong bug #.
