When attempting to print from abiword, the following occurs -

Error: ttftool: Incomplete TTF file

and abiword exits.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start abiword
2. Open a file - .doc, .abw, etc.
3. Select - Print

Actual Results:  
rsanders@chi ~ $ abiword

Error: ttftool: Incomplete TTF file


Expected Results:  
It should have passedthe file to cups for printing.

You can use -march=k8 cflag for better optimization for all your system, it is a
safe cflag :)

I can't reproduce this with 2.2.11 on x86, with or without USE="gnome". Additionally, the only references I can find seem to be old, and on x86-64. Can you try upgrading to 2.4.1, and see if the problem is resolved?

To do that, you'll need to:

USE="~amd64" emerge abiword
