Hi,

Could it be possible to have the kernel module of linuxwacom built with the ebuild ?

It could be interesting to have it by a USE flag.

Thanks

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

3.

Do it or don't, but please do not add an use flag for this..

Configuring the extra module in 2.6.x doesn't require an entire kernel rebuild -
http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/index.php/howto/buildwacom6 says configuation
is required in the kernel anyways.

yes, it may need chonge in the kernel configuration, but, if peoples are using
the wacom module, they have these changes :)

I dont know what happened to this bug report but nothing had changed since a
loooong time with linuxwacomebuild, the same with the last version available
with lot of interesting changes for wacom users.

Test bug #147537 if your tabled don't work anymore.... I'm actually using the
volito tablet on kernel 2.6.18...

Ps: it requires you to build the kernel driver as a module and then overwrite it. But the driver provided with the ebuild is newer
Comment 6 Robert Buchholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-30 16:14:57 UTC
There are ebuilds that enable building of the kernel module attached to bug 147537.

Please note that we will not support building of the external module in the tree, as it is included in the mainline kernel for quite a while now, and maintained there well. Please update your kernel before using the outside module.
