Description Greisberger Christophe 2005-09-27 08:08:09 UTC
Hi,

I upgraded my KDE to 3.4.1 and I have one service missing.
When I open a konqueror, go to the Services tab and then click on "Devices", I
get the error message "Protocol not supported devices".

I did a locate kio_devices and found only:
/usr/kde/3.3/lib/kde3/kio_devices.la
/usr/kde/3.4/share/locale/ar/LC_MESSAGES/kio_devices.mo
/usr/kde/3.4/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/kio_devices.mo
/usr/kde/3.4/share/locale/es/LC_MESSAGES/kio_devices.mo
/usr/kde/3.4/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/kio_devices.mo
/usr/kde/3.4/share/locale/ja/LC_MESSAGES/kio_devices.mo

A bug with one of the splitted kde packages?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

I emerged and/or upgraded all splitted kde packages, except the *-meta

Here emerge info:

remove the stale .la file, as it was removed and renamed to media:/ iirc.

Thanks!

Strange, emerge should have removed all these kde 3.3 stuffs.
Can I rm-r /usr/kde/3.3 without problem?

After you do an 'emerge -C' of all the single kde*-3.3 packages you can safely
clean out the few files that remain in /usr/kde/3.3.
