Description Greg Slocum 2005-09-26 09:51:29 UTC
Gallery 1.5 (from the maker) no longer has the language packs bundled with it.
They are all in separate tarballs -- about 40 of them, 1 for each language. As
a result, the www-apps/gallery-1.5.1 ebuild only has English in it now.

I saw someone had been working on a lang ebuild for 1.4, but that seems to have
been dropped on the floor. Besides, 1.4 is just flat gone from ebuilds anyway
because of a vulnerability...

The language files are a bit difficult to find on sourceforge's site. Here is a
link to them:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=7130&package_id=96735&release_id=358436

If that link isn't persistant enuf, just click on "files in this package", then
"show only this release" when the only language you can find under downloads is
af_ZA.... sigh...

Prolly putting all of the langs into a single sep ebuild would be fine. Putting
them each in sep ebuilds creates an emerge -s nightmare and a royal pain if you
want to install them all. Heck, I'd be happy to have them in the main ebuild...
 ;-)

With 1.4 gone because of the security prob, that leaves nothing to revert to.
I guess that means the priority of this is a bit higher.

All of the language packs cannot be in one file because there are some for the
same language with different encodings. The user needs to pick which encoding
they want to use and download the appropriate combination of language packs. As
a team, we have decided not to release all of the language packs in one file for
this very reason and the number of possible combinations would probably be more
confusing and troublesome than downloading the individual language packs that
one wants.

Chris, thanks for your input. In light of that, closing as WONTFIX.
