We specifically provide php/mod_php-4.3.11{-r1} for applications that are broken
w/ 4.4.0. I really don't see why php-4.4.0 should be masked.
In my world file I only have reference to www-apps/horde-turba and www-apps/horde-imp, nothing concerning php. If I update my system without masking php-4.4, php-4.4 is merged and imp is broken. Masking 4.4.0 is really not an option, there is nothing wrong w/ it. Masking php-4.4 might not be an option, but at least the dependency for the horde package should be set in such a way that php-4.4 won't be merged. A non-functional package in a stable distribution is bad, really bad if it was working before. Either the dependency of horde should be fixed, either the package should be upgraded, but a simple "mask it for yourself" is IMHO not an option. |
