*** Bug 105621 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I have the ebuild written up, but have hit an X bug. I do not wish to drop the support for the X version, so I will be spending some time trying to figure out the cause. I am attaching the ebuild and patch here though, if you wish to use the console only verison. Once the X issue is resolved, I shall commit to portage. Created attachment 68325 [details]

spim-7.2.1-font.patch
Thank you so much :). It compiles, but xspim does not launch, giving the error: "input in flex scanner failed" I do not have time to look into, it so I will get back to this in a few hours time. Goodness, I really have to read pay more attention to things in the morning. I just noticed the second comment, so heed little attention to my last comment (#5). Thanks so much. I could use the cli spim, but my professor wants us to use the GUI one. Once again, thanks for ebuild, and I will be eagerly await the fix for the X version :). Created attachment 68371 [details]

Fixes the runtime error, however, no text is visible due to font issue.
Thanks, it works. This ebuild still has an issue. The font does not display. As a result it can not be commited as is. Thats odd, xspim works fine. I can read the fonts and everything on it. Can it be that some font is needed as a dependency (which I already have)? I committed 7.2.1 to portage with some fixes to get amd64 running again. Everything displays fine for me in xspim with or without the font patch. With the font patch applied, 'fixed' is used as default, but we can probably get rid of it. |
