By default I actually mean, it should be added to the documentation in the section of "system tools" (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=1&chap=9#doc_chap2). Umm, doesn't the chapter you linked already say: "If you plan on using sysklogd or syslog-ng you might want to install logrotate afterwards as those system loggers don't provide any rotation mechanism for the log files." Sorry, I must have missed that sentence. |
