I would agree that this should be done. In my case, trying to update a kernel (gentoo-sources) on a mythtv box, I'd also like to be able to update lirc without requiring a reboot beforehand. If I try to do this, I see an error about requiring kernel sources to be installed. If I add --with-kerneldir to the econf, lirc compiles. Should be fixed in 0.8_pre3, reopen if it's not. |
