Bug 104884 – sci-mathematics/scilab-3.1.1{-r1} ./configure can't find libgtkhtml

When emerging scilab-3.1.1 as well as 3.1.1-r1 I got thefollowing: 
checking for values.h... yes 
checking for main in -lncurses... yes 
checking for PVM architecture... LINUX 
checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config 
checking if gtk is version 2.1 or later... 2.6.8 
checking for html_document_open_stream in -lgtkhtml-2... no 
configure: error: Could not find the libgtkhtml-2.0 package. 
 
However, I have libgtkhtml-2.6.3 installed.

I found the problem. 
It was libxml2 related. 
I upgraded it, and now it configured properly.

Could You explain please ? I get the same error and I'm using the lastest libxml2 version

Hi  Bertrand,

Have you tried re-emerging your installed version of
gtkhtml-2* followed by a revdep-rebuild?
