I'll wait for alpha to comment on this as well, but try using the vga driver instead of vesa. It looks like vesa support was just enabled in -r2, so the driver probably wasn't doing anything until the recent update. Replaced "vesa" by "vga" in my xorg.conf file. Didn't help though... It would be helpful if you could try some of the masked versions of xorg-x11 in the tree (6.8.99.x). If any those cause issue this is an upstream bug. I unmerged Xorg-x11-6.8.2-r2 and emerged xorg-x11-6.8.99.15. Results are the same with both the vesa and the vga driver... That's not good. :P Post a bug up at https://bugs.freedesktop.org and drop the URL here when you do. For the time being you'll just have to use 6.8.2-r1 or something. This seems to be a unique case as we've had no other issues with alpha so far (that I'm aware of). Done, relevant URL: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4344 Thanks for the quick replies :) If you're feeling gutsy you could try out the modular build. You'll need to look at the dev mailing list for information on how to get it working. Modular is marked -alpha so no promises. |
