Please post the output of "emerge --info" to every bug that you file as the form
asks.

Please be more specific too. Which version of ALSA is in use? kernel or portage?
What happens when you try to play a sound?

emerge --info

Alsa compiled in kernel.
In dmesg:
http:/dvanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.9b (Thu Jul 28
12:20:13
ALSA device list:
  No soundcards found.

Mixer show all enabled, xmms show mp3 playing, no audio ouput.

Audio worked in 2.6.12-r10 and still works in win2k and suse 9.3 on same
machine.

When alsa mixer is at max volume, kmix is at min. No audio..
Wehn kmix is at max volume, alsa mixer is at min. No audio..

Proc/asound/mixer0/oss_mixer shows all entries at 0 regardless of either mixer
settings.
