svgalib_helper: Unknown symbol class_simple_device_add

you neglected to post `emerge info`

also, what version of svgalib are you trying ?  if you re-emerge svgalib, does
it work ?

All in portage. Versions: 1.9.19-r3  1.9.21

svgalib is already ready for the 2.6.13 class_simple changes. Please attach the
full output of "emerge =svgalib-1.9.21"

as Dan pointed out, class_simple should work fine ...

Looks fine. What happens when you "insmod
/lib/modules/2.6.13-gentoo-r1/misc/svgalib_helper.ko" ?

(I see that the original bug report complains about kernel/misc/svgalib_helper -
this may be an older version, which you should manually remove)
