when emerging net-mail/checkpassword with its "static" USE flag, compilation
fails.  Without static it compiles fine.

This actually blocks it from being keyworded ~ppc-macos.

The error is famous:
/usr/bin/ld: can't locate file for: -lcrt0.o
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [chkshsgr] Error 1

static won't ever work on OSX.
