Description Miroslaw Holubek 2005-08-23 11:51:53 UTC
I have missed my wireless connection after emerging the new baselayout.
 I have got the problems since sys-apps/baselayout-1.11.13, look at http://
forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-365997-highlight-.html
It is something wrong with iwconfig, maybe something else.
My wireless card is SMC2835 and is configured in /etc/hotplug/pci/prism54.

Comment 4 Miroslaw Holubek 2005-08-29 07:33:29 UTC
I have tried to configure my wireless card in my /etc/conf.d/net:
key_lan="myWEPkey"
but it did not worked.
When I put "iwconfig eth1 key myWEPkey" in my /etc/conf.d/net the wireless card
is working well. It can be only temporary solution, because it makes trouble
with my cable setup.
What I have to put here to get it working correctly?
Comment 5 Roy Marples (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-08-30 09:13:00 UTC
Remove the /etc/hotplug/pci/prism54 directory you created and then put
key_lan="myWEPkey" in /etc/conf.d/net or /etc/conf.d/wireless

Try reading Gentoo documentation and not forum posts on prism54.org from over a
year old which as posters there indicated is out of date to what Gentoo
currently provides.
