Comment 1 Glenn Enright 2005-08-19 19:41:34 UTC
also AFTER emergeing without collision-protect
# qpkg -f /lib/modules/2.6.11-gentoo-r4/video/nvidia.ko
media-video/nvidia-kernel *

re-emerging 7676 works fine. this was an upgrade from 7667.

dated, duplicate, dump

Comment 4 Paweł Hajdan, Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-04 10:02:46 UTC
IMO this bug should be reopened. It's still a bug (see bug #156908), and it was not marked as LATER by a gentoo dev, but by the reporter. Of course then the summary should be changed to something like 'portage has problems with collisions on kernel modules' or similar.
Comment 5 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-05 06:36:06 UTC
Really, it would be a dupe of bug #149307 instead.
