I've found this package has existed for some time now.  However, recently the package has broken.  The SRC-URI has changed as well as the layout of the tar.  Please accept my modified -r1 ebuild (attached) as an update.

Note my new ebuild DOES require kernel 2.4.20 AND gcc-3.2.  I'm assuming this only because I've set up the ebuild to use:

    x86/gcc-3.2/pwcx-2.4.20.o

I've left the DEPENDS empty, please add the kernel and gcc dependency if this is a Gentoo requirement.

I have tested with two different Philips cameras, and it works, but...I realize it has to be "really" tested. ;-)

media-video/usb-pwcx is already in portage.
