net-mail/poppassd_pam has been added to portage. Please test and let me know if it works properly for you! I am using poppassd_pam in conjunction with shadow and have found that poppassd doesn't work. If I connect to it via telnet, provide a valid user name, a bogus password and a new password, poppassd reports that my password was changed. But it was not. I would expect some kind of error associated with the bad password. If I give it my real password, it behaves exactly the same: claims to have changed my password, but does not. I mentioned the fact that shadow was installed because I'm wondering if this could account for the problem. Just a guess. Thanks -- Steve I have also been testing poppassd on my server, using telnet. The server is not changing any passwords, although it is reporting that it has. You can enter bogus user credentials and it still carries on - there is certainly something very wrong with the ebuild/server program as it is currently. I also have shadow installed. |
