it is possible that this is an interaction between these drivers and the rmap vm system. can you try out using xfs-sources-2.4.19-r2 rather than gentoo-sources (assuming you were using gentoo-sources) if not, please tell me your kernel version. I'm currently using gentoo-sources-2.4.19-r9 and I also saw the problem with -r7. as info: 4191 is now in portage tree blah whozit scroboo... I now ONLY get this problem if I play UT2k3, how about you? (using the 4191 drivers) I'm upgrading a lot of packages right now, so I'll have to see how well the new drivers work later. I've been playing warcraft 3 (in WineX) a lot and haven't noticed the problem there with 2960-r1 - I usually had it in UT2k3 and the game that I'm developping. let me know the status of this, just clearing out bugs. I don't know if this problem still exists with the 4xxx drives, because I no longer play unreal tournament 2003 and I'm not currently working on my project that was causing freezes. On the other hand, I haven't had any freezes after lots of warcraft 3. |
