The Kernel config used
The error is found with kernel 2.6.12-gentoo-r9 too. After starting VMware with these kernels (2.6.12-gentoo-r[69]) a regular shutdown hangs at the network device. Only a hard reset helps or halting the system with "halt -f". It appears that you're having an error with VMWare-supplied code. Since you have purchased VMWare and are entitled to support, I recommend you excercise your right to it and file this with them. I'm more than willing to add any necessary patches to the ebuild, but am not willing to spend my time doing free support for a commercial company. This error is obviously not ebuild-related, and therefore does not belong here. |
