when using find cmd 
find / -name abc

following error
find: /proc/26244/task: No such file or directory

find /usr -name abc 
seems to act as expected

see above

Expected Results:  
should find the file or nothing

Works fine here. Which version of findutils have you installed? Also, emerge
--info is missing.

Yes, findutils will give an error if a file was present when it checked a
directory listing but removed by the time it gets to processing it. This is sane
behaviour.
