parchive (http://parchive.sourceforge.net) is a utility used for processing PAR
files.

PAR files are archives very often used on Usenet for binary multipart archives.
These PAR files contains parity information (as with RAID-5), which allows you
to recover parts of the multipart archive if a few files are incomplete on your
newsserver.

Very, very handy for Usenet alt.binary fans.

Oh, the category should be app-arch, or app-misc if you think it's more appropriate
