I used to be able to change the screensaver settings from a menu entry under the
Desktop menu (Preferences, I think).  After a recent upgrade in x86 that item
disappeared.  I now have to run xscreensaver-command -preferences in a shell to
do that.

The "About GNOME" dialog box says version 2.10.1.
