http://www.nightsys.net/strace-firefox theres an strace output, requested by anarchy@gentoo.org :) Please provide 'emerge --info' Also, can youu try different binutils versions as eradicator has pointed out if you still having this issue after re-emerging glibc and firefox try glibc-2.3.5-r1 with USE=-linuxthreads-tls and report back. Tried the emerge glibc mozilla-firefox at anarchy@gentoo.org's request, No luck. will try the next fix and report back shortly. http://www.nightsys.net/firefox-ppc-crash-libc-2.3.5-r1 The result of glibc-2.3.5-r1, same issue by the looks of it. ok...done a few things, ran anarchy@gentoo's glibc pkg, got that on here now (2.3.5), still had no luck, then i put morfic@gentoo's mozilla-firefox pkg on here (since anarchy's had +gnome and i didnt want it), and it loaded up. morfic can you please stick your emerge -pv mozilla-firefox here for reference? Appears to have been caused by broken glibc ... possible use of DEBUG use flag as well. If problem shows feel free to reopen. |
