Description Eric Brown 2005-08-05 06:53:52 UTC
I tried the latest hardened liveCD, and it puts me at a login prompt, but
doesn't tell me what the root password is. I'm assuming it's supposed to
automagically log me in, but it does not.

The only problem on startup was it failed to mount root partition, so i hit
ctrl-D to continue.

Looks like a duplicate of bug 82556... Hardened LiveCD is mentioned in one of
its comments.

This is something different entirely and not related to bug #82556

The new 2005.1 livecd, which is available by bittorent[1] and on the mirrors[2], still scrambles the root
password, and makes a default user, but clearly explains what to do at the isolinux boot screen. I highly
recommend using this CD over the older ones due to various improvements, and hopefully all remaining
confusion regarding how to login is settled by the boot message.
