Looks like a duplicate of bug 82556... Hardened LiveCD is mentioned in one of its comments. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 82556 *** This is something different entirely and not related to bug #82556 The new 2005.1 livecd, which is available by bittorent[1] and on the mirrors[2], still scrambles the root password, and makes a default user, but clearly explains what to do at the isolinux boot screen. I highly recommend using this CD over the older ones due to various improvements, and hopefully all remaining confusion regarding how to login is settled by the boot message.
