geez, attach logs, don't just C&P them.. this bugs becomes totally unreadable like this. Anyway, considered checking if gnome-menus provides said file ? If both apps point to the same lib, why not check that one out? If both apps > point to the same lib, why not check that one out? A search of the system returns no files beginning with libgnome-menu gnome-menus is installed as per the below: * gnome-base/gnome-menus Latest version available: 2.10.1 Latest version installed: 2.10.1 Size of downloaded files: 331 kB and what does 'equery f gnome-menus' give ? (needs gentoolkit) (In reply to comment #3) > and what does 'equery f gnome-menus' give ? (needs gentoolkit) Here's the output, which includes nothing. $ sudo equery f gnome-menus [ Searching for packages matching gnome-menus... ] gnome-base/gnome-menus-2.10.1 * Contents of gnome-base/gnome-menus-2.10.1: Seeing that I unmerged gnome-menus and merged it again. Now the 'equery f gnome-menus' lists files. Eel and gnome-panel have both been succussfully merged. Do you have any idea what causes a package to show as installed, yet not have any files like that? Maybe it was the result of a small problem in gnome2.eclass which didn't stop the emerge process if "make install" failed. It was fixed recently. Since the real reason of this problem is unknown (we don't know what caused gnome-menus to fail the first time), I'm closing this as invalid. Thanks for your help. |
