Which version of xorg-x11, fontconfig, freetype do you have? emerge -pv xorg-x11 fontconfig freetype These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies ...done! [ebuild R ] x11-base/xorg-x11-6.8.2-r1 -3dfx +3dnow +bitmap-fonts -cjk -debug -dlloader -dmx +doc -font-server* -hardened +insecure-drivers +ipv6 -minimal +mmx +nls +opengl +pam +sdk +sse -static +truetype-fonts +type1-fonts (-uclibc) +xprint +xv 0 kB [ebuild R ] media-libs/fontconfig-2.2.3 0 kB [ebuild R ] media-libs/freetype-2.1.9-r1 -bindist +doc +zlib 0 kB I upgdated xorg to the latest version (6.8.2-r4), but still cannot compile kdebase. :-( Do you still have a freetype-1* installed? (freetype-1 and freetype-2 are slotted) Yes, freetype-1.3.1-r4. I never installed it manually, though. Just did emerge -u world. perhaps that's causing the compile conflict? I don't have freetype-1 on my machine here. Can you see if it's being depended on by some package? Perhaps you can unmerge it. Well, I removed freetype-1, but there is still the same error. I found the reason: an old version of Xft.h resided on my system in /usr/src/include and was picked up by the compiler. :-( |
