Description Drakos7 /Greg Wilson/ 2005-07-25 08:30:52 UTC
libgtkhtml needs gnutls to compile but is not required in the ebuild. Error is:
/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.4/../../../../i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld:
cannot find -lgnutls
Ebuild should be modififed to require gnutls.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge =libgtkhtml-3.6.2
Actual Results:
build fails at:
 /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.4/../../../../i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld:
cannot find -lgnutls

Expected Results:
compile

I did not have gnutls installed.

Comment 2 Daniel Gryniewicz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-25 09:28:32 UTC
The problem appears to be that pkg-config for libsoup is pulling in gnutls, even
though libsoup only optionally depends on it. Try re-emerging libsoup with -ssl
and see if the problem goes away.

I just emerged gnutls and then I was able to get libgtkhtml fine.
