I fixed this bug using the steps described in that article I gave you...
After emerging find utils, use Control + C to kill the emerge right after the source is 
unpacked. 
Find xargs.c in /var/tmp/portage/findutils-4.1.7/work/xargs 
comment out the lines discussed in the article 
save 
use the standard build process(./configure, make, make install) 
replace /usr/bin/xargs w/var/tmp/portage/findutils-4.1.7/work/xargs 
 
Would you please package this fix into an ebuild or report it to the findutils CVS tree 
maintainer .  I would build an ebuild, but don't know how to yet
